Independent Non-Executive Director
Ms Christina Foo was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Star on 1 October 2022. She is also a member of Audit Committee of the Company.
Ms Christina Foo is a Chartered Accountant and a member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants; a fellow of CPA Australia; a fellow of Malaysian Institute of Management and a fellow of Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia as well as Qualified Risk Director, Institute of Enterprise Risk Practitioner. She is also a member of ASEAN Chartered Professional Accountant and Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance. She obtained her Bachelor of Business Studies (Accounting) in Deakin University, Australia.
Ms Christina Foo was in public practice for over 37 years serving clients in Accounting, Tax, Strategic & Business Advisory services under the employment of Ernst & Young (1985 – 2001) and Priority One (2001 – August 2022). From 2018 to 2019, she was appointed Senior Practice Fellow at Sunway Business School, Sunway University.
Throughout her career, Ms Christina has taken up numerous appointments to contribute her service, skills, knowledge and energy to organisations whose vision and mission resonates with her purpose and values. She started serving as a Corporate Director on boards in 2007.
She currently sits on the Board of UEM Sunrise Berhad and Ancom Nylex Berhad, as well as Malaysian Technology Development Corporation Sdn Bhd. She also chairs the Industry Advisory Board, Sunway Business School, Sunway University.
Previously from March 2018 to June 2021, Ms Christina Foo had served as a board member of KPJ Healthcare Berhad. She was also the chairperson of the Members Liaison Committee at the Mines Resort & Golf Club from November 2014 to October 2022.
