HEINEKEN Malaysia Bhd brought early Chinese New Year cheer to Menara Star in Petaling Jaya with its “Abundance of Prosperity” celebration.
Led by Tiger Beer, the celebration kick-started with thunderous drum rolls and an energetic lion dance performance.
Marking the festive occasion, Heineken Malaysia Bhd managing director Hans Essaadi and Star Media Group chief executive officer and managing director Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai, together with senior management of both companies, toasted to a good year ahead and joined in a yee sang-tossing session.
Star Media Group employees who were present at the lobby had their share of the exclusive yee sang set, which was created in conjunction with the recent Tiger Streets campaign. It featured a combination of traditional Malaysian street food and fine dining elements consisting of smoked salmon and crunchy golden whole prawn crackers coupled with a distinctive satay sauce.
As a token of appreciation for the mutual support throughout the year, Essaadi and Wong exchanged gifts symbolising prosperity and good fortune.
The festive air was enlivened with the God of Prosperity giving out mandarin oranges while Star Media Group employees participated in the “Rolling Board of Prosperity” game to win ang pow packets, Tiger Beer mugs as well as playing cards.
“It is important for us to keep up the tradition of spreading the joy and prosperity of Chinese New Year to valued members of the media every year.
“It is not only an opportunity for us to meet and greet them personally, but also to start the new lunar year in a prosperous way while wishing them prosperity and good fortune in the Year of the Rooster ahead,” said Essaadi.
During the Chinese New Year campaign, over a million consumers will stand a chance to win prizes worth up to RM2mil.
Fifty units of cash ang pow worth RM8,888 each, along with RM2 rebates on beer purchases and exclusive sets of playing cards, are up for grabs when consumers obtain winning bottle cap liners through any big bottle purchase of Tiger Beer, Heineken Beer, Guinness Stout or Anchor Beer in coffee shops, food courts and restaurants.
Those who purchase two big bottles of Heineken Beer or Guinness Stout in participating outlets will also receive a “Match and Win” scratch card to try their luck at winning a RM2 rebate on their next purchase of the same beer.
Expect to see the Tiger Beer brand ambassadors and the God of Prosperity at more than 180 participating outlets while roving teams will be visiting about 1,200 outlets across the country, bringing attractive promotions, exciting on-ground engagements, fun games and prizes to consumers.
Consumers who pre-purchase dinner tables at these selected outlets nationwide will also receive a specially created Tiger yee sang set.
Meanwhile, exclusive Chinese New Year packaging of 18-can packs and 24-can packs of Tiger Beer are available at supermarkets and hypermarkets. The special 18-can packs are only sold at selected Giant and Aeon stores, and come with two sets of exclusive Tiger ang pow packets.
