TWO photographers from Star Media Group Bhd bagged awards in the Shah Alam Photography Competition 2021.
Mohd Faihan Mohd Ghani and Art Chen took the champion and second runners-up awards respectively in the competition’s “New Norm” category.
Faihan’s winning work depicted a group of medical personnel conducting a drive-through Covid-19 swab test on food delivery riders at Dewan Raja Muda Musa, Kompleks Belia dan Kebudayaan Negeri Selangor, Section 7, Shah Alam.
“When I heard about the event, I rushed there and saw medical personnel donning personal protective equipment to administer the test.
“I waited for the right moment to capture the scene.
“The picture also shows the importance of staying healthy during this new norm amidst the pandemic,” he said, after receiving the award at Wisma MBSA, Shah Alam.
Meanwhile, Chen pictured a man clad in PPE sanitising a premises from a spiral staircase.
“I was at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah building and chanced upon the scene.
“The architecture of the staircase helped me frame the shot,” he said.
