As custodian of ‘The People’s Paper’ and a citizen watchdog, Star Media Group’s deep involvement and engagement with Malaysians go as far back as 1971 – the year The Star was established. As the organisation grew, so did the realisation that we could do more than report on the needs of vulnerable and marginalised communities.
This led to the establishment of Star Foundation in 2004 – the charitable arm of Star Media Group that raises, receives and administers funds for social causes and research purposes covering areas of education, environment and social welfare for Malaysians.
For us, our responsibility to Malaysians go beyond pure philanthropy. It is the desire to support and deliver sustainable, meaningful and impactful social initiatives so that ultimately, no one is left behind.
